About: Miniature Painting of Little Miss Moffet, Fairy Castle

Mounted on the wall of the Great Hall of the Fairy Castle is a painting of Little Miss Muffet and a spider from the English nursery rhyme “Little Miss Muffet.” This well-known nursery rhyme is thought to date back to the 16th century and is popular in children’s literature.

The Great Hall with floating staircase is a grand room with many treasures. The floor is composed of ivory carved with rose vines which carry up onto the great pillars supporting the ceiling. The ceiling includes domes painted by Helga Brabon of characters from fairytales of both the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Anderson. The Great Hall includes many hanging wall paintings as well as many rare treasures gathered from around the world.
