About: mp3blue Jacket
About: mp3blue Jacket
The mp3blue Jacket was an early attempt to add technology to clothing ("wearable tech"). The jacket uses Bluetooth technology, an embedded control panel, headphones, and an electronic accessory (or module) for storing mp3s. These are compressed digital audio files that made it possible in the early 2000s to take audio files on the go. You could connect the module to a computer, transfer up to 30 audio files and listen to them through the headphones.
Like mp3s, Bluetooth technology was also on the rise in the early 2000s. If someone had Bluetooth on their mobile phone, they could “pair” (establish a wireless connection) electronic devices. This type of technology was a true tech innovation that freed you of cables and wires. This jacket and its accesories mark the beginning of wearable tech, and set the stage for the evolution of "smart" clothing, accesories, and devices that are now commonplace.
