About: Landers, Frary & Clark Universal Pushbutton Toaster

Also known as the “Sweetheart Toaster”, this 1928 art deco-style toaster from the Landers, Frary & Clark Company is constructed of nickel-plated steel and has buttons at its base to release compartments for the removal or insertion of two slices of bread. The buttons would also help rotate the bread to ensure both sides were toasted, a technology that was invented in 1913.
