About: General Electric Light Bulb
About: General Electric Light Bulb
This lightbulb was part of the opening ceremony at the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition. The ceremony consisted of using the light from the star Arcturus to light up the Exposition. It took forty years for Arcturus’ light to reach Earth which was the same length of time since Chicago had hosted its first World’s Fair, the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
