About: General Electric Television 806
The General Electric Television 806, released in 1949, was one of the first affordable color televisions in the U.S. It featured a 10-inch color screen and used the NTSC color system, which became the standard for color TV broadcasting in America. This model helped make color TV more accessible to the public and played a key role in the shift from black-and-white to color, increasing the popularity of color broadcasts in the 1950s.
