About: Model of Tesla Coil
About: Model of Tesla Coil
Similar to the original Tesla coil invented by Nikola Tesla (1856 - 1943) in 1891, this smaller version of a Tesla coil from the 1890s or 1900s was used in educational demonstrations to produce high voltage, low current, electricity. After a transformer boosts the Tesla coil’s voltage, the first wire coil stores the voltage until it exceeds capacity and jumps across the spark gap, charging the second coil until it ionizes the surrounding air and radiates as a stream of lightning.
