About: Pila Delta Leyden Jar

About: Pila Delta Leyden Jar

Made in Italy in the 1930s, this Leyden Jar was an early type of capacitor used to store electricity between electrical conductors, usually sheets of metal, on the inside and outside of a glass jar. When a source of electrostatic energy is brought to the electrode in the center of the jar, the conductors store equal but opposite charges.
