About: Max Kohl Polariscope
About: Max Kohl Polariscope
This early twentieth century German polariscope was used to study substances and objects in polarized light, which occurs when a wave of light travels parallel to the material it passes through. The two mirrors at the end of the polariscope help reflect the light back towards the viewer after it has been polarized, usually by a glass plate.
